PLANNING A WEDDING … ( A supposedly my brother’s ) - a very LATE post

My brother told me yesterday that he has found the girl that he like to spend his life with .. after searching and searching and yes … searching, finally he met one, and like the old use to say, that you don’t have to search your soul mate so far away … He found his at our Kampong in Cibungkul ( location see below ..lol).

My mom was so excited ( everything that has got to do with planning a party .. she got excited), so like usual she told me to prepare lists of :

1. Kebaya – the traditional Javannese gown. ( For our side and the Girl’s side )

I’ve browsed some Kebaya for the families and of course for the bride. What I have in mind is something chic and simple but Faboulous …..

2. Wedding Invitation

I used to think that wedding invitation were soso or not so important, but you can have fun with it

3. Wedding Souvenir

My mother have thought about it thoroughly .. its either a hand towel or beauty mirror

4. Venue & Decoration

The venue is at our place, and it’s a morning till noon party

5. Wedding Cake

Have to be good

6. Food

12 side dish and 8 main course ( or prasmanan )

7. Seserahan ( I don’t know in English – it’s where the groom bring stuffs to the brides )

Consist of clothes, shoes .. etc

8. Wedding Ring

@ years after the wedding ....

They have 2 kids, a girl and a boy, and have to tell that their marriage are not easy, lots of adjustment, mis communication and fights, but I believe that they want to stay together because of love and kids.

Lesson Learn : Marriage is not for everybody, but if you decided on it, stick with it at least and try hard to make it work.

CLINIQUE : SUPERFINE LINER FOR BROWS

I am very picky when it comes to eyebrow. Sure I got a nice one J, mine is not too thin, but it the edges is too short, so you have to draw on it.

Currently I am using Clinique Superfine Liner for Brows and NYX eyebrow kits ( I ‘ll make a review about this later ).

In Indonesia, Clinique Superfine Liner for Brows cost IDR 165 K ( roughly around USD 15 ), you could buy it in almost all department store at every malls, since I live in Bali, my favorite ( or since it’s the only place that has the product ) is Discovery Mall.

There are 5 colors for the products, I am using the black brown one, since I have a tan skin ( its Bali … what do you expect ), but I am curious to try another color, like a soft brown one ( since I am obsessed with this make up tutorial by pixiwoo on youtube, and they always introduce me with new possibility of colors ), anyway ….. let the review begin.

How to Use :

· Color option to dispense product, hold tip with one hand and rotate stem counterclockwise one full turn per use.

· Use light, feathery strokes to mimic natural hair, filling in where needed.

· Remove with your favourite Clinique eye makeup remover.

· Pencil only swivels up and not down. For best results, twist up liner 7-9 clicks per use.

My Review On The Website :

This is the second one I did a review on Clinique website, and my opinion still stands. The website a is not pretty, I wish they pay someone who really gives a care on the esthetic of the site ( but it just me )

Packaging :

It’s a pencil like product, a small/thin grip, bit comfortable, with swivel tip, so you just have to twist it. Its very mechanical and easy to use, and it looks pretty.

Texture :

Very very soft and so very easy to clean ( if you make mistake), and so full coverage.

How To Apply :

I don’t consider my self as a make up guru or a make up artist, I think the how to apply part would be to your liking. If you have a think eyebrow and go for the 20’s look, then it will be just a thin line, but if you have a brow like me, thick on once side, short, and need to apply a little bit on the edges, then I would recommend that you use it a little bit on the beginning of your brow, and stroke a little and create a little bit arch ( or just go straight ) ----- I don’t even make sense on what I’m talking about, I suggest you watch some tutorial on it, but here is my picture anyway. J

My Review :

I think this eyebrow liner is one of the best, you get your money worth, and I will be for sure using it like …. Forever.

FAVORITE STYLE OF THE YEAR : INDONESIAN CIREBON BATIK

Indonesia has lots of cultures, from the variety of foods to its traditional clothes. One of them is The Cirebon Batik.

Like any typical places in Java, Cirebon has its own style in the Batik art. It's mostly got something to do with the drawing or the clouds, or mega. And it's as beautiful as any other Batik in any other places in Indonesia.

And that is why I'm searching for the style of the Cirebon Batik a year ago, the wannabe designer in me always have the urge to once again live up my childhood dream.

And since the fabric is so flowy and thin ( but of course with a good quality), it's good to wear at the tropical weather like here.
