TRAVEL WISH UPDATE : Korea Day 1
Travel Date: 5th March - 19th March 2014
I finally Freakin did it. I went to Korea ( Seoul and Busan to be exact) for the whole 2 weeks, alone. It was an ahmazing experience since I never travel by myself. I took a lot of picture, mind you it wasn't selfies, since I am bad at making one, but more to the places and peoples it self.
Korea was GREAT !!!, I can see my self coming again, I love the food, the culture, the places, everything. I planned everything before, made itineraries, budgeting ( since I'm going backpacker style ). I book everything before I came, which then I found out that it made everytihng handy and easier, less freedom tho, since on the last day at Busan, I didn't want to go yet, but I have booked everything and didn't want to lose everything, so .. there you go...
It also took me almost 1 week to do the Korean Visa. I know that you can do it by yourself, but since I live in Bali, and I need to go to Jakarta to get it, I paid an agent to do it for me, and it costed me like IDR 900 K. The flight ticket Denpasar - Seoul with airasia, I got it for 4.5 mio IDR, and I went from Seoul to Busan by Fast Train ( KTX). I have done lots of research on the best way to travel from Seoul to Busan and vice versa, and of course the most simpler was the KTX one, it only takes like 2 hours ( or is it 4 I don't remember), but you can see the link here . The best thing about Korea, is that everything is easy, all you need to do is get online.
You can also travel by a bus, like this girl that I met from german did, she travel between two cities by bus and it takes her 8 - 12 hours.
The thing that I wanna see most was this show, called Nanta Cooking Show, it was good, pity that i couldn't take the picture of it, but again, I booked the show beforehand, and since I'm booking this show, I got an AREX ticket for free. AREX is the train that takes you from the airport to the city ( mind you its quite far the city from the airport), you can take train, or again bus.
So I'm going to breakdown my itinerary and my experience while I was there.
Ok, so I'm Making the pic as in the original size, may not look pretty tho.
I read lots of blogs and travel to korea review, regarding shopping in Korea and how you will get discount or even free stuff if you download e-coupon bfore you come Korea. So I did, but nope, it didn't do me any good.
Day 1
Arrive in Korea, after 4 hours flight from Kuala Lumpur ( mind you that i'm flying with Airasia, so any international flight will be transit in Kuala Lumpur. Arrived at Incheon in the morning, a slap on the face on how could it was, I figure since its March, its spring, so not too cold but NO, It was the end of winter, so the weather was 15 degree, and yes, I never been to a country during my adulthood that has 15 degrees weather.
This is what it looked like from the moving KTX, panoramic of south korea when I first landed, everything is grey. But looks cool.
I have also booked a place to stay through airbnb, a bed n breakfast at the center of Seoul, close to the station, called Geum House. It has these restaurants surround it, I went inside to one of them, and show the owner the picture of food I want to eat, and OMG, it tasted so freakin great, prolly because I was hungry.

This is a sour soup tofu something, as you can see, they gave me side dishes like tipical korean food, the rice was amazing, the side dish was amazing, overall, if it register on the Trip Advisor , I would love to give a 5 stars.
I Manage to get to the center of the city after having a delicious meal, to see the palace, since it says a must see guard changing, it was interesting. Korea has such an awesome history, if you are so into korean historian drama, you prolly familiar with a lil bit of their history, like I do :)
I did see the guard changing, was interesting. And for the first time, I manage to talk to a stranger to get my pic take.
After the palace, I went to see around, there was actually a demonstration ( which I happen to see alot here, entertaining indeed ), but also a festival... hhmmm a demonstration and a festival ... I manage to try the Korean snack ( which I'm pretty look alike takoyaki .. OMG is takoyaki actually Korean ?? :)
